🌿 Why is “regulating the body” essential for emotional stability?── A perspective from science, Eastern medicine, and the subconscious mind

🧠 1. Emotions are processed not only in the brain, but also in the body
According to neuroscience, emotions are not just processed in the brain—they are felt through the entire bodily system, including the autonomic nervous system, internal organs, and muscles. For example, anxiety often shows up as a tight chest, queasy stomach, or shaky hands.A healthy body allows emotions to naturally follow the process of:
"feeling → flowing → settling."➡ On the flip side, when the body is unbalanced, emotions tend to get "stuck."
📍 I remember when I went to study Reiki with a master in Singapore—the first lesson was exercise.Back then, I was inexperienced and asked, “Could you teach me Reiki, not just exercise?” (laughs)Now I deeply understand why that was the starting point.
🌬 2. When your autonomic nervous system is off balance, it becomes hard to regulate emotions
Chronic stress, lack of sleep, poor nutrition, and lack of movement disturb the balance of the autonomic nervous system (sympathetic and parasympathetic). As a result, irritability, depression, restlessness, and emotional instability become more common, making you feel like you’re “not yourself.”➡ Body care is also about tuning your “emotional stabilizer.”
🌱 3. Eastern medicine: The concept of “Mind and Body as One”
In Eastern medicine, mind and body are not separate but “two sides of the same whole.”For instance, when the liver is overworked, irritability arises; when the kidneys are weakened, anxiety tends to grow.➡ If you want to change your mental state, a physical approach is indispensable.📍In fact, many of my clients say they feel anxiety in their stomach—and that’s no coincidence.
🧘♀️ 4. When the body feels “safe,” emotions can safely emerge—and you can start taking action
Trauma or suppressed emotions won’t surface unless your body feels safe.On the other hand, when your body is in a calm and secure state, emotions begin to naturally emerge, leading to healing, cleansing, and reintegration. And this doesn’t stop with just emotional release. When the mind and body are connected:
✅ You can truly understand your inner voice
✅ Your energy starts to move forward
✅ Motivation, focus, and execution naturally increase
In other words, a safe body is not only a space for emotional healing—it’s also the foundation for action.
When you feel like, “I want to move forward, but I just can’t…”It may not be laziness—it might be your body still saying, “I don’t feel safe yet.”➡ The first step toward success is to create a body that feels safe.
✨ 5. The body is the canvas of the subconscious mind
Emotions belong to the subconscious realm, and they often appear in the body before they can be put into words. That indescribable discomfort? It’s often your inner voice speaking through your body.Keeping your body healthy increases your receptivity and ability to dialogue with the subconscious mind.📍In today’s world, it’s widely acknowledged that stress causes illness.Looking after both your mind and body will only become more essential from here on.
🔑 Conclusion
A healthy body is a space where emotions can “safely flow.”Emotions are meant to be:
felt → recognized → processed → released. And to allow this to happen smoothly, you need a body that can both receive and release emotions.
💬 Is your body a safe container for your emotions? When your heart feels heavy or unstable, perhaps it’s time to begin by gently taking care of your body.
